Kilndown and Lamberhurst Cricket Club

Play-Cricket website - new!

KLCC has a new website! The address is:http://kilndownlamber.play-cricket.com.

The main reason for this is the Kent County Village League (KCVL) made it a requirement for all their clubs in 2008 - the idea is to make it easier for us to submit League results and scorecards. But also, anyone can go to the website and see details of our ground, committee, fixtures and results, and there are other features that can only be used by registered members of the website.

To register, you have to first register with Play Cricket itself, and then state which club you are a member of, as follows:

  1. Click the big "Register" button (on the right hand side of the Home page)
  2. Fill in the form that appears - you can get away with filling in just your name and email address, I think, but more information would be useful to us. (This is only seen by the KLCC website administrators, i.e. Steve Martin and Adrian Hammond.)
  3. On this form, you can click the "Find your club" button (halfway down the form). This takes you to a small screen where you can select "Kent" from the list of counties, and "Kilndown" as the keyword; then press "Search". This should show "Kilndown and Lamberhurst Cricket Club"; click the word "pick" next to it. This takes you back to the form, with the club filled in.
  4. When you have finished filling in the form, click the "Send Form" button. I think there are two pages to fill in - hopefully the instructions on the screen are self-explanatory.
  5. Now you are registered with Play Cricket, and can "Log In" using the fields on the right hand side of the Home page. You also get an email from Play Cricket confirming your registration.

If you did step 3, you should get an email in a few days to confirm your membership of KLCC website. If you omitted step 3, you can join KLCC afterwards, as follows:

  1. Log In as in step 5, then click the words "Your Details" on the right hand side, then the words "Membership and Roles" on the left hand side.
  2. This should show you a list of roles you already have, if any. Click "Choose another site".
  3. This takes you to a small screen where you can fill in "Club", "Kent", "Kilndown" and then press "Search". This should show "Kilndown and Lamberhurst Cricket Club"; click the word "pick" next to it, which takes you back to your roles, now with a KLCC role added to the list. It may say "pending" for a few days until you get an email confirming your membership of KLCC website.

Hope I haven't put you off by going into so much detail of how to do it. Once you are a member, you will be able to communicate with other members and look at statistics, etc. I am still exploring it myself!

The old website is still in use as well:http://www.klcc.uk7.net.
