The KLCC Annual Dinner was held last night, Saturday 18th October, at the Brown Trout in Lamberhurst. There was a good turn-out - and almost as many raffle prizes - and the evening was very successful. In addition to the raffle, which made £130, there was also an auction - the skipper (Kevin Francis) was able to offer for auction a "four ball" at the East Sussex National golf club. This was secured by Simon Clark for £100 - all of which goes to KLCC funds. Many thanks to all who contributed and all who attended.
The presentations were slightly unusual; the chairman had won the bowling award himself, so the skipper stepped up to present it to him. The chairman presented the other three traditional awards - batting, catches and sixes - all three to Gary Tapp! There was also a new award; the chairman and the skipper had chosen a Man of the Match (MoM) after each game throughout the season, and the player who was MoM most times won the award. It has been a KLCC tradition to present awards for batting, bowling, catches and six-hitting, at the Annual Dinner. Starting this year, these will be permanent trophies to be held for a year and returned in time for the next Dinner. It is intended to have the trophies engraved with the names of the winners, and to get us started we will include the past winners since the club was founded. Of course, KLCC was only founded in 2001, and we don't intend to go back further than that, even in the unlikely event we could find the records for KCC and LCC.
The batting and bowling awards have been made on the basis of averages, not aggregates; but the table below also includes a note of the highest aggregate, where this differs from the best average.
